Kalamota, Lopud and Šipan islands were always favourite summer destinations for Dubrovnik Republic aristocrats who built there their luxurious summer villas.
As it was centuries ago, so it is today. If you ask local people to name one of their favourite islands it would surely be one of the three major islands of Elafiti archipelago. Beautiful nature and sandy beaches (that are quite rare on the Dalmatian coast) aren't the only reason why these islands are so popular.
